“Synergies Between Seismic Modeling and Real Time Wellbore Navigation using Modern LWD Data, Uncertainty Principles, and Geosteering Techniques”

Igor Kuvaev

Rogii

ABSTRACT

“High-quality 3D seismic data is available for most unconventional fields that are being developed. A Structural model, faults, fractures, and reservoir properties are typical deliverables based on seismic data interpretation. An operations geologist needs to be able to take into account all available data while drilling to come up with the best available geosteering decision. During this talk we will discuss benefits and limitations of both seismic and geosteering datasets and how can we use seismic data to improve the quality of geosteering outcomes.”
