Core-log Integration Examples with Digital Rock Data

Halliburton’s Digital Rock Services include pore-scale imaging and rock property sim-ulations for organic rich source rocks, complex carbonates and high permeability sandstones. Rock typing plays a crucial role in reservoir characterization, aiding in the distribution of rock and fluid properties within earth and reservoir models. Here we demonstrate a variety of case studies and approaches at core-log integration where Digital Rocks brings value. Ideal applications include simulating different EOR com-pletion scenarios, CO2 relative permeability in aquifer and seal evaluation, weakly ce-mented sands conditioning and organic rich source rock evaluation. For complex res-ervoirs, rock is needed in the formation evaluation program to derisk production or storage.

BIO :

Jacob Proctor– Product Champion Digital Rock Analysis (Halliburton)

Jacob Proctor, a carbonate sedimentologist, holds an MSc from Rice Univer-sity and dual degrees (BSc and BA) in geological sciences and physical an-thropology respectively from the University of Texas at Austin. His recent roles spans product development, international sales, and operations man-agement. Proctor has authored technical papers and worked on complex carbonate plays, tight gas sands, and unconventional organic-rich source rocks globally, with a focus on North America, Brazil, Argentina, Malaysia, and the Middle East.
